I've worked quite a few conventions and I notice that when an artist has smaller prints available as well as the same art in large then people with less money to spend will still pick up something small and cheaper.

hmm yeah ive noticed that before too, but i also notice that even if i have a4s, my a3s sell way better D: so i might decide to cut all a4s out

Yeah, it's an awkward size. A3 is nice and showy and A5 is nice and cheap! Could be worth a trial run to test profit margins.
